Collision Course Review

Title: Collision Course          Author: S.C. Stephens          Genre: Young Adult (YA)

Collision Course
This book was very different from Stephens' Thoughtless series. It was a little like the Lovely Bones. I very much enjoy the fact that Stephens' writing takes you through every aspect of the emotions & actions of the characters. The story is about a teenage boy, Lucas, who has a hydroplaning car accident while being the designated driver to his inebriated best friend, his best friend's girlfriend & his own girlfriend. Being the sole survivor & not being charged with anything for the accident wins him only unsubstantiated rumors from his peers & the families of the deceased. He accidentally meets a new student, Sawyer - who has her own mysterious history, that doesn't know him or his situation & they find solace in each other. The story speaks of his wanting to join his friends but subconsciously wanting to live but not wanting to hurt his dead friends feelings & how Sawyer tries to help him. In the end, only one person can help him.

Great Book - 3-1/2 Stars Out of 5
